Scene summary:
Early in the play Othello is peaceful. Facing
accusations by Desdemona's father that he used witchcraft to gain her love, he
speaks to the senators with truthful honesty and it is clear that he loves her.
Earlier he avoided confrontation and restricted from any offensive towards his
father in law, whom Othello says "loved" him before this incident.
